Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease (also called gum disease or gingivitis) refers to the infection of the supportive tissues of the mouth due to toxic bacteria found in plaque. Many individuals suffer from some degree of gum disease, and if left untreated, gum disease can cause tooth loss, break down of the soft tissue in the mouth and jaw and other significant health problems. Your dentists at Terrace Hill Dental assess your periodontal health and if needed, conduct the appropriate therapy to restore gums and supportive tissues.

Implants-Restoration

Are you missing teeth? Have you postponed getting a bridge or denture? Do you wear ill-fitting, loose dentures right now? Terrace Hill Dental wants to improve your quality of life with dental implants.

As the prosthetic that most closely mimics nature’s design, dental implants serve as substitute tooth roots. Each implant is strategically placed in the jaw, where bone integrates with it to create a solid foundation for a crown, bridge or denture. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.

Benefits of Dental Implants:

  • Promote bone retention
  • Eliminate slipping, loose, wobbly dentures
  • Don’t require support from healthy teeth
  • Can last a lifetime Look, feel, and function like natural teeth

Implant Supported Dentures

While typical dentures shift and require the use of denture adhesives to keep them in place, implants fit solidly, reducing the problems associated with traditional dentures such as gum sores, difficulty speaking and difficulty chewing. Implant supported dentures distribute your biting pressure more like natural teeth than traditional dentures, stimulating the supportive structures of your teeth and preventing the bone and soft tissues from shrinking away. You can replace an entire set of teeth with beautiful, natural-looking implants.

Same Day Crowns

Tired of the inconvenience of multiple appointments to have a crown, veneer, or bridge placed? With CEREC technology, you can restore your decayed, cracked or chipped tooth in one appointment. Terrace Hill Dental makes this possible with CEREC technology. CEREC creates full crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneer restorations, made of compressed porcelain, in a matter of minutes. It is for this reason that they are stronger than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a CEREC restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the benefit of a one visit restoration, you will not need to endure uncomfortable impression material to bite on or temporary to wear. Ask us about using CEREC for your next restoration.

Root Canal

Damage to the nerve tissue inside of a tooth sometimes requires a root canal procedure. Despite the tales you may have heard regarding the procedure, most root canals are minimally uncomfortable, especially compared to the pain and discomfort you may be feeling before the procedure. Terrace Hill Dental takes advantage of advances in technology and dental techniques that make root canal procedures more effective while taking less time.

A root canal involves removing the soft tissue within the tooth – the pulp – when it has become infected and inflamed. Your dentist gently files the infected tissue out of the root canals of the tooth (this is where the procedure gets its name) and fills the void with an inert material. The procedure is completed with the placement of a filling or in some cases, a crown.
